WARD, Sydney

The family announces with great sadness his passing in Sudbury, on November 16, 2020 at the age of 79 years. He was born in Truro, Nova Scotia, on October 28, 1941. Predeceased by his parents, Fred and Florence Mae Ward (née Vienot). Brother to Marie McDermott from California and is predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Sydney came to Azilda in 1959 and started working for INCO in 1961 where he worked for 27 years. Sydney married his sweetheart Sandra Ward (née Robillard) in 1961. They then had 3 children together: Carol (Dan), Sydney Jr. (Carole) and Kevin (Lisa). Sydney and Sandra have 5 grandchildren: Terry, Jamie, Bree, Keenan, Jayden and 3 great-grandchildren: Riley, Jessie and Holly. He loved hunting in Cartier and Fox Lake for partridge, loved fishing in Massey at Sauble-River for speckle trout. He had a special love for his cat Jake and adored all his grandchildren dearly.
