Cremation Options

Prior to 2012, funeral homes in Ontario were not able to own and operate a crematorium. In light of some changes in provincial laws, an overwhelming increase in the request for cremation and a desire to better serve our clients, the Cooperative Crematorium opened its doors in May 2017. An official open house was held September 23rd 2017 and was attended by hundreds of people from our community. The brand new, state-of-the art facility, not only services our clients but also other funeral homes in the surrounding areas. Located at 4691 Regional Road 15, attached to our Chelmsford funeral home, this not only makes us extremely proficient in providing cremation services to our community, it now allows us to care for our families and clients throughout the entire process, avoiding having to contract out the cremation or travelling hundreds of kilometres out-of-town as we`ve done in the past. Built by Commercial Burner, a reputable Canadian company, our 2 units feature a touch screen operation which provides a more efficient cremation, a modern processing station and a viewing room for families who wish to be present for the cremation. Needless to say, we are most proud of our new crematorium.
