It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on April 3, 2022, at the age of 74 years. Loving son of the late Albert and of the late Claire (née Gladu) Servais. Dear brother of Maurice (Kim) and Gerald both of Hanmer, Noël (late Carmene) and Rachelle Royer (late Donald) both of Azilda, and Denise Marcotte (Gaston) of Chelmsford. Marcel has held a very special place and bond as a beloved “bonus parent” to Lissa Paiment and Stephanie. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. When Marcel made his home in Valley East in the early 1970s, he embraced every opportunity to proudly serve his community. From the Town Counsel to the Lion’s Club, men’s Blooperball, and minor hockey associations, Marcel was most in his element when organizing community events and giving back to others, while surrounded by family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of his altruism, generous spirit, playful banter, and love of laughter. He was a rock for his family and for his friends, and he has imprinted his beautiful spirit on us all. At Marcel’s request, there will be no visitation or service.
