CORMIER, Alonzo 

The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Val Caron, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the age of 93 years. Beloved husband of Jacqueline (née Ross) Cormier. Son of the late Joseph and the late Marie Marthe (née Doiron) Cormier. Loving father of Connie Johns (Jim), Denis (Velma), Gilles and Claire Gauvin (Bob). Predeceased by his siblings Azade, Albina Légère (Joseph), Dorina Jarry (Marcel), Léo (Noella), Jean and Anita Paris (Frank). Cherished grandfather of Tina Mckellar (Dennis), Jason Luciw(Jen), Alicia, Adam (Wendy), Andrew, Chantal, Eric Gauvin (Karen), André Gauvin (Natalie), Julien Gauvin (Janelle). Alonzo was born and raised in Pokesudie New Brunswick. In 1956 he met the love of his life Jacqueline and they shared 64 beautiful years together. Alonzo, a motivated man, worked as a lumberjack and also 34 years at INCO. He was fortunate to benefit from 34 wonderful years of retirement. He enjoyed travelling, building, playing cards and fishing. His most cherished moments, was spending time with his wife and family.
Due to the pandemic, there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Thérèse at a later date.

Fils de feu Joseph et de feue Marie-Marthe (née Doiron) Cormier. Père bien-aimé de Connie Johns (Jim), Denis (Velma), Gilles et Claire Gauvin (Bob). Prédécédé par ses frères et soeurs Azade, Albina Légère (Joseph), Dorina Jarry (Marcel), Léo (Noella), Jean and Anita Paris (Frank). Cher grand-père de Tina Mckellar (Dennis), Jason Luciw (Jen), Alicia, Adam (Wendy), Andrew, Chantal, Eric Gauvin (Karen), André Gauvin (Natalie), Julien Gauvin (Janelle) et arrière-grand-père de 18 petits-enfants. Il laisse dans le deuil plusieurs nièces, neveux, parents et amis. Alonzo était natif de Pokesudie Nouveau Brunswick. En 1956, il rencontra l'amour de sa vie Jacqueline, ils ont partagé 64 belles années. Alonzo, un homme très motivé, a travaillé dans les chantiers ainsi que 34 ans à INCO. Il a été chanceux de profiter de 34 belles années de retraite. Dans sa vie, il a voyagé et a fait plusieurs projets de construction. Il aimait jouer aux cartes et faire la pêche. Ces moments les plus précieux étaient lorsqu’il avait sa femme et sa famille autour de lui.
En raison de la pandémie, il n'y aura pas de visite. Une messe commémorative sera célébrée à la paroisse Ste-Marguerite d’Youville, Val Thérèse à une date ultérieure.
