The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of the late Thérèse (née Turcotte) of Sudbury. Son of the late Willie and the late Marie-Alice (née Fortier) Gardner. Loving father of Francine Lajeunesse (Vince Pawis), Louise Lachapelle (Donald) both of Sudbury and Carmen Murphy (Bob) of Calgary. Dear brother of Rachel Brunelle (late Armand) of Sherbrooke, QC, Jeanne-Rose Gardner (late Wilbrod) and Thérèse Gardner (late Réjean) both of St-Eustache and Ronald (late Marielle) of Lavaltrie. Predeceased by his brothers Maurice, Fernand (late Adrienne of New Hampshire), Richard (late Lise) and Onil (Doris of Longueuil). Cherished grandfather of Daniel (Nicole), Melissa (Pierre), Cynthia (Mark), Derek (Leanne) and Brendan (Alanna), and great grandfather of Romie, Mia, Janelle, Chloé, Finn, Carter, Cooper, Jackson and Lucas. Daniel will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Maurice St.Martin for his ongoing care and compassion, and to the staff at Pioneer Manor (Cranberry). The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Friday January 20th, 2017 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday January 21st, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St-Dominique Church, Sudbury.
