Bill was a gentle giant, a loving, caring and compassionate man. When he cared for you, he did so unconditionally. His character was one of kind, he had no issue letting you know if he was not happy or annoyed and it was one of the best parts about him once Alzheimer’s took over. We knew he was still in there, not a big swearer but he sure let you know when he was not having it. Bill always lit up a room with his contagious smile, his 50’s swagger and his beautiful baby blues. He was known to do anything, and everything for anyone. We spent our childhood travelling, always a new adventure. Bill always had the grill on for all our friends, known as “Barbecue Bill” no one left with an empty belly.

Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother. As we mourn his passing know that he was at peace. Met by the great Appelle that passed before him, your home son. Time to dance with your mother, relax with your father, play golf with your wife, and laugh with your son. Bill’s infectious spirit only brought out the best in people, we were all so blessed to have him in our lives.

Bill was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked for the City of Sudbury at the Wahnapitaie Water treatment plant, retiring in 2001.

We would like to thank all the staff at St-Gabriel’s Villa for the outstanding care and devotion throughout the years. Words cannot describe how grateful we are of all the staff for taking such great care of Dad. Due to the current pandemic, the family will be having a visitation followed by a Mass at St-Andrew the Apostle once the lockdown is over.
