It is with very heavy hearts the family announces her passing on the afternoon of October 10, 2022. Few are the people who did not feel the strength of this unique soul. A bond was instantly created with everyone she met. A glowing aura surrounded her as she reveled in the pleasure of helping individuals when they needed it. The loss of Viv leaves us all stunned and wondering why. Viv leaves behind her beloved soulmate Denis, the fortunate person she nurtured and tended to for 53 years. She never wavered in her commitment. Denis will have a tremendous task trying to fill the void she leaves behind. Viv was blessed with 2 sons: Sean Gauthier (Kimberly Comishock) and Derek Gauthier (Laura Eicher) both of which honored their parents with 8 incredible grandchildren: Keagan, Cutter, Kennedy, Kingston, Banks, Smith, Hollis and Brick. Viv was predeceased by her parents Armand and Gertrude (née Gagné) Ruel, as well as her brother Germain (Pat) in Thunder Bay. She is survived by her brother Normand (Elaine) in Kinburn, Lorraine Evoy (Melvin) in Hanmer and Evelyne Clarke (Brian) in Barrie. She leaves behind many grieving brother and sister in-laws: Johanne Dunphy (Tom), Richard, Larry (Giselle), Lynn McKerral (Leonard), Maxine Quenneville (Mike), Tina and predeceased by her parent in-laws Vital and Marcelle (née Villeneuve) Gauthier. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Viv was the kind of person we could all learn from moving forward. Remember to keep your family members close as tomorrow is never promised. Although we mourn the loss, we will forever cherish the time we had. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
