Obituary for Viola Belcourt (née Mallette)

Viola Belcourt (née Mallette)
It is with our deepest sorrow that the family announces the passing of Viola at 87 years of age at Health Sciences North, in Sudbury. Daughter of the late Norbert and late Léontine (Robitaille) Mallette. Beloved wife of Fulgence (Phil) for 68 years. Loving mother of Paul (Kathy Shilling), Estelle (Daniel Liard), Marcel (Christine Martin), Maurice (Ramona Kenney), Denis (Joanna Hawranik), Victor (Linda Nadeau), Monique (Denis Clément), Daniel (Karen Doyle), Gisèle (Alain Mageau). Cherished grandmother of Eric, Colin, Manon, Julie, Mélanie, Alain, Justin, April, Stanley, Veronica, Josée, Renée, Phillip, Gabrielle, François, Christine, Monika, Amanda, Chandra, Carissa, Kynan, Patrick, Sam, Sophie, Nathalie, Kayla, Amy, Julien, Cédric, Camille, Cassandre and adoring great-grandmother of 21. She enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans to give away to family and friends. She did beautiful work always with tender loving care. Predeceased by her sister Gloria (September 2, 1974) and brother Roy (September 9, 1963). She will be missed by her nieces Norma (Fred Hausenblas), Theresa (late Mike McGuire), Diana (Gérard Frappier) and Darlene (Bernard Lavallée). She will be fondly remembered by her family, extended family and many dear friends; to name a few, Henry and Diamantina, Emma and Linda, also Willie among others. Viola was the sweetest, caring, loving person. She especially loved those special occasions such as family reunions every September, Christmas, birthday parties and anniversaries where family and friends gathered to celebrate. She was an amazing cook who truly enjoyed preparing and sharing delicious food. She enjoyed watching movies. She also loved to play cards, poker, backgammon, cribbage, pool and was a champion shuffleboard player. Her fun-loving spirit will live on and we will forever have a lifetime of extra special memories of her. She was a very devout person, a parishioner at St-Charles Borromée church in St-Charles, never missed Sunday mass, remembered all deceased family and friends in her daily prayers because she cared so much for those she knew. Special thanks to the healthcare professionals of Health Sciences North, Sudbury for their kind and compassionate care. Due to the pandemic, a Celebration of her life and Memorial Service will be held at a later date with arrangements by the Cooperative Funeral Home, Sudbury. In Memoriam, the family will appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
