Obituary for Steven Legault

Steven Legault
It is with broken hearts that the family of Steven John Legault announces his passing on Sept 25th, 2020 at the age of 44 years old. Born on March 7, 1976 in Sudbury, Ontario. Proud Father to three beautiful children, his gifts to our world, Kallie, Lily-Ann and Zane. Beloved son of Rene and Marie Legault (nee Metcalfe). Cherished Brother and best friend to Christopher wife (Nicole) Legault. Dear Grandson to the late John and Hazel Metcalfe. Survived and missed greatly by his Memere Carmen (Marcel) Legault (Predeceased by his Pepere Rheal Legault). Steven is survived by his Nephews Kadeem and Nicolas, and his nieces Kirsi and Tiffany who were his world. These four loved him more than words can begin to express, and Steven adored them all. Steven had a special relationship with his 1st Cousin Felicia, the two were more like siblings, he told everyone that she was his sister and she loved him like her brother. Special partner to Renée Jacobson. Steven is leaving behind many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him. Steven had a special bond with his Auntie Bunny (his moms’ sister who both agreed when having their children that they would share them and love them equally) She will miss him greatly. Steven was born and raised on Vermilion lake road where he spent most of his time playing outdoor sports, visiting his Nana, fishing and spending time with family and his many friends. The times on Vermilion and the connections he made there were some of his best. Steven bled blue and was a die hard “Leafs” fan. To relax, Steve would be found on a lakeshore with a fishing rod in his hand. He loved rock music, animals of all kind, Felicia’s food and was best known for his giant smile, the sparkle in his eye, his sense of humor, his adventurous spirit, and his protective nature of his family. Steven was “mama’s boy and her little “minkie” she loved him hard and he will always be her baby! Steven had a very special relationship with his only brother Chris and looked up to him his whole life, when Chris met his wife Nicole an even crazier connection happened as Steven loved her just like a sister, she was Steven’s guardian angel on earth and she would never give up on him! Steven spent most of his adult life struggling with Substance dependency disease. If the will and love of his family was enough to save him he would have died a very old man….but addiction is a disease our family now knows all to well and our love was not enough to silence the demons in his head that pushed him every day. If Steven’s death wakes up one person and makes them realize its not a game, time is precious and today is the day to ask for help, then we the family beg you to speak up and seek out help. You are worthy and loved just like our Steven. RIP in our love.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 from 11:30 am. to 2 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m. Donations can be made to the Trust for Steven’s Children or to any animal charity of your choice in Steven’s name.
