Beloved husband of the late Rita Chartrand. Loving father to Robert and his wife Connie; dearest grandfather to Joëlle. Ron leaves behind his dear girlfriend Karen Boudreau. Ron is the son of the late Real and late Lucia (née Bazinet) Chartrand.
Ron is the dear brother to Raymond and Hélène of Sudbury (Gilles, Julie, Ginette); Claude and Lorraine of Sudbury (Roxanne and Joanne); late Claudette of Sudbury; Bert and Bonnie of Windsor (Laura and Carrie); Marcel and Paulette of Embrun (Shawn and Michael); Bernie and Linda of Alban (Kenneth and Kyle); late Lise Chartrand Delarosbil and Jean Marc Lambert of Timmins (Alain and Josée). Ron is the brother-in-law to late Fernand of Noëlville (Lucie, late Paulette), Francine, Bernard, Vincent, Richard); Thérèse of Ottawa; late Lionel of Noëlville (Anne, Michael, Danny, Charlie, Giselle); late Gérald and Irène of Kapuskasing (Estelle, Raymond, Chantal); late Robert and Jane of Florida (Lisa, Bobby); and Gilles and Denise of Ottawa (Denis and Marc).
Ron was born and raised in Sudbury and was a hard worker. He was a plater for INCO (Vale) for 30 years. Always ready to expand his horizons, he and Rita owned businesses over the years including apartment buildings and a confectionary store. His true passion layed in building the family cottage on Lake Nipissing in Monetville. He and Rita enjoyed many retirement years in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Wally Archibald, Dr. Gupta, Carefor Health Ottawa, and the caring and compassionate team of professionals and volunteers at the Maycourt Hospice Ottawa.
