It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the age of 100 years. Son of the late Hervé and of the late Aurore Lalonde. Beloved husband of Régine (Taylor) Lalonde predeceased in 2021. Loving father of Léonne Bock (Richard), Diane Thornton (Brian), Roger Lalonde (Nicole) and Suzanne Côté (Michel). Dear brother of Beatrice Poirier and Yvette Leblanc. Predeceased by his son Régis and by his brothers Lucien and Roland. Cherished grandfather of Marc, Luc, Stéphan, Yvan, Sylvie, Éric, Martin, Alain, Juline and great-grandfather of 15. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Omer, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, was a devoted and perseverant man. For over 20 years, he volunteered at the Pioneer Manor. He loved to fish (fish was always his favorite food), cut wood and talk about his younger days as a lumberjack. He was also an avid gardener at his house in Garson and later at his camp on Elbow Lake. He especially loved to take long walks and did so until a few weeks before his passing. His children would like to thank the staff at the Lasalle Residence for their care and compassion and also the amazing staff at the Maison McCulloch for their constant care, compassion and devotion in Omer’s final days.
