Michel was a tireless advocate for sport in education and played a leadership role within the Sudbury District Secondary Schools' Athletic Association coaching and convening various activities, including OFSAA Boys Volleyball in 2005. In 2016, he won the Pete Beach award which among other things symbolizes leadership and inspiration to students and peers alike. His unbridled enthusiasm and beaming smile will be forever missed in school sport circles. R.I.P. Michel!
