Obituary for Maurice Boutet

Maurice Boutet
BOUTET, Maurice
1944-2021

With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Maurice Boutet on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the age of 77 years. Son of the late Léo and late Jeanne d’Arc (née Lacroix) Boutet. Beloved husband and best friend of Jo-Anne Boutet (née Bertrand). Loving father of Lise Boutet-Stewart (Jim), André Boutet (Nicole) and the late Stéphanie Boutet-Fréchette. Cherished grandfather of Patric and Philippe Boutet. Dear brother of Simone Pascoli (Loris), Dr. Paul Boutet (Renée) and Denise Boutet (Steve). Predeceased by his sister Louise Lugli (late Albert). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Born and raised in Sudbury, Maurice attended Sacred-Heart College and later graduated from the University of Sudbury at Laurentian University. He was a dedicated educator and taught at many French Language secondary schools and was also Principal of Confederation High School in Welland, Ontario. For many years before his retirement, Maurice worked as an education officer with the Ministry of Education. He helped to shape and edit the Ontario curriculum for the teaching of secondary schools. He was also one of the primary founders and President of the Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation. Maurice enjoyed reading, walking, dancing, golfing, swimming and hockey (Montreal Canadians). He enjoyed his daily Facetime with his daughter in Vancouver and always looked forward to his next family gathering in Rockland with his son and family. He will not be forgotten, until we meet again. Due to the pandemic a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made by cheque or online to NEO Kids or the SPCA. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
