Obituary for Marie-Paule Charbonneau (Gauthier)

Marie-Paule Charbonneau (Gauthier)
It is with great sadness that the family announces her passing in Sudbury, on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the age of 83 years. Daughter of the late Arthur (Yvonne) Gauthier, loving sister to Therèse Charbonneau (late Martial), Loving mom to Lise Charbonneau (Tom), Rénald Charbonneau (Sylvie) and Suzanne Falardeau (Mario). Cherished memère to Jacqueline Belanger, Sylvain Falardeau (Melissa), late Bobby Charbonneau, Patrick Falardeau (Crystal), Mélanie Gillespie (Tyler) and André Charbonneau. Great-grandmother to Dawson, Payton, Lisa, Kiana, Leeila, Madison and Greysen.

Predeceased by her siblings: Léopold (Henriette), Noëlline (Achille), Raymond (Thérèse), Carmelle (Rolland), Armand (Claire), Thérèse (Martial), Jacqueline (Réal) and Charles (Claire).

She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Marie was a hard-working woman that loved her family. She had a heart of gold, and she was always there to lend a hand. She loved the great outdoors such as fishing, camping, and hunting, and passed on her traditions to her children and grandchildren. In turn, they will cherish those memories forever.

Marie was also known as the caregiver for our family. She would make all kinds of her homemade remedies for any type of flu, cold or other sicknesses. She was even called upon and counted on when someone within the family was terminally ill. She provided complete care and ensured her ‘patient’ had everything they needed and then some.

Memère never went anywhere without involving her grandchildren and there are many stories to share. We never missed a camping trip at white lake lodge; we always had our cold plates when we went fishing, and never came home skunked. Our times spent at memère was coming into a house that smelled like baking, fresh buns and always had homemade chicken rice soup. She could never keep food in her house as we were always picking every time she baked. We always had our “Shirley Temple” every time we asked. Memère was truly an amazing person, and her door was always opened. She did anything for her grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be made in the new year. In her memory donations can be made to the Lung Health Foundation.
