Obituary for Marcel Audette

Marcel Audette
AUDETTE, Marcel
The family announces with heavy hearts his peaceful passing in Sudbury on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020 at the age of 69 years. Son of the late Arthur and the late Délia (née Beaulieu) Audette. Beloved husband of Suzanne (née Cayen) Audette of 50 years. Loving father of Carole Audette of Chelmsford and Chantal Tellier (Stéphane) of Elliot Lake. Dear brother of Thérèse Gauthier (late Marcel), Rosanne Carrière (Raymond), Gilles Audette (Yvonne), Jacques Audette (Louise) and Philip Doris Audette (Carmen). Predeceased by his siblings Hector Audette, Léo-Paul Audette (Lucille) and Dolorèse Nadon. Loving grandfather of Mathieu (Jessica), Emilie (Lukas), Maxime (Lexus), Jérémy and Sébastien. Great-grandfather of Oaklen and Kota. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives and friends. Marcel worked at Denison Mines for 24 years as an electrician until the mine closed. He then worked for Ontario Power Generation in several of their nuclear plants until he retired in June 2013. With the love of his life Suzanne by his side, he enjoyed fishing on remote lakes and camping in the summer, travelling to Florida for the winter months, playing his guitar and singing any chance he got. But what was most important to Marcel was his family. Nothing made him happier than having his loved ones around and spending time with his family making lasting memories. He always had a smile and loved striking conversations with people he met. His zest for life and positive outlook has left a lasting impression on many who knew him. The family would like to thank nurses and staff at Health Sciences North for their compassionate care and especially Dr. André Roch who was a godsend in Marcel’s last weeks of life. The family will receive relatives and friends after 10:00 a.m. for condolences at St-Joseph Church, Chelmsford on Saturday, January 18th, 2020. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation by cheque or online would greatly be appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
