It is with great sadness that the family announces Lorraine's passing on May 16th, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Born on August 24th, 1936 to Alfred Boyer and Jeannette (née Gagnon) Boyer, Lorraine married the love of her life, Sam (Zygmunt) Szlagowski on May 29th, 1954. She is survived by beloved children Glenn (Patricia), Christopher (Sandra), Wanda Tickner (Russell), and Karen Miller (Gerald). Predeceased by her sister Lucille Karnopp (William) and survived by her brother, Ronald Boyer (Suzanne). Cherished grandmother of Trevor, Danielle, Olivia, Meaghan, Mitchell, Alexa, and Andrew. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mom/Gramma is cherished for her pride and love of family, and for making a house a welcoming home to a wide circle of friends. Family and friends alike could always rely on Lorraine, whether it was for lending an ear, sharing helpful advice, or joining a party. Wherever she went, Mom/Gramma was dressed for the occasion, always elegant and articulate. Everyone who knew her would agree she had the gift of the gab! We will remember her as an impeccable host who served full plates and bottomless glasses, a blue-ribbon pastry queen, an unconditionally loving and supportive Mom/Gramma and friend, and the life of the party. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in her memory can be made by cheque or online to the Canadian Cancer Society.
