Obituary for Laurette Hogan (Dignard)

Laurette Hogan (Dignard)
HOGAN, Laurette (nee Dignard)
AUGUST 8, 1928 - NOVEMBER 5, 2020
Mom passed peacefully surrounded by her children at her side. Predeceased by her husband Edgar in 1989. Loving mother of Denis Hogan (Katherine), Diane Boudreau (late Marcel), Denise Hogan, Lorraine Pike (Gary), Gisele Perras (Alain), Gerry Hogan (Bryon) and Pauline Robidoux (Greg). Cherished grandmother to 14 grandchildren; Jason, LeeAnn, Jennifer C, Roxane, Roger, Bradley, Kourtney, Sarah, Jennifer W, late Justin, Kim, Stephanie, Joel and Michelle. She was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Mom was born and raised in St. Charles then moved to Val Caron with her husband Edgar, where she started her family. She and Edgar operated Sudbury Roofing Ltd. for many years. She was an amazingly loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who held on to her matriarch role up to her very last days. She ensured family kept connected through family gatherings, celebrations, and special events. Mom fostered a close bond with all her loved ones. Mom had a passion for the great outdoors and this was evident during her earlier days spent at the family camp on Lake Nipissing where she spent time boating, snowmobiling and fishing. She reigns supreme in Trophy fish catching and was not shy to brag about it. She especially enjoyed exploring nature and birdwatching and became an avid supporter to wild-life causes. Her other interests included reading, arts and crafts, folk art, ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. Mom had an amazing sense of humour and maintained that humour to the very last day. Her wit and humour entertained many who crossed her path. Her family and friends will have many memories of her quick retort with one liners. The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Merotto and staff for their special attention and care provided to mom and to Dr. St-Martin and all medical staff at Pioneer Manor. We want to acknowledge the love and care given to mom by all staff at Pioneer Manor in particular the Personal Care Workers. Your dedication to duty and care was beyond expectation. This was often shared by mom’s numerous discussions during our visits. Due to the pandemic to protect our friends and family, Mom’s wishes are to have no visitation or service.
