It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the age of 93 years. Son of the late Johnny Martel and Louisa (née Nault) Martel. Predeceased by his wife Yvette (née Bédard) Martel. Loving father of Robert Martel (Lyse Deschamps). Predeceased by his daughter Bonita Martel and Denis Martel (Suzanne). Cherished grandfather of Bobbie Dubé (Blair Osterlund), Yvan Dubé (Trina), Troy Dubé (Rebekah), Derrick Martel (Kristina) and Glenn Martel. Proud great-grandfather of many great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his siblings Philip, Maurice, Jean-Marc and Lauraine. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9. Due to the pandemic, there will be a limit of guest at the funeral home and at mass. Masks are mandatory. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St-Jean de Brébeuf Church, Sudbury.
