Lafond, Dr. Jean-Yves
Dr Jean-Yves Lafond died peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in Sudbury. Beloved husband of Reine-Aimée (Poirier). Born in Verner, he was the son of the late Oswald and Yvonne (née Legendre) Lafond. He graduated from the medical school of Laval University. He spent his entire career as a family physician in Sudbury. Upon retirement, Dr. Lafond continued his contribution to the medical system by providing operating assistance for several years. Besides his spouse, Dr. Lafond is survived by his sisters Jeannine Cotton (late Herman) and Micheline Lafond. Predeceased by his siblings Jacques Lafond (late Georgette), Rollande Lafleur (late Dan) and Georges Lafond (Rita). Lovingly remembered by the Poirier family and by many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Many thanks to the personnel at Red Oak Villa as well at Health Sciences North, in particular, Dr. Falk and the healthcare team on the 4th and 8th floor. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, Sudbury. Due to the current pandemic and its restrictions, a 65 persons limit will be enforced.
