It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Sunday, November 1st, 2020 at the age of 85 years. Son of the late Alexander William Purdon and of the late Annie (Butcher). Beloved husband of 61 years to Martha (Gauthier) Purdon. Loving father of Anne Marie Purdon, Mark Purdon (Darlene), Bernard Purdon, Michael Purdon and Joel Purdon (Lana). Cherished Grandpa of Noah. Dear brother of William Purdon (Karen). Predeceased by his siblings Gerard Purdon (late Joyce), Ruthan Lagace (late Louis) and Dawn Laferriere (Gordon). Gary worked at Ontario Hydro as an Electrical Engineer as well as in management for 27 years. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 5th, 2020 at 12 noon at St-Andrew the Apostle Church, Sudbury. Due to the current pandemic, there will be a limit to the number of people attending at the funeral home and church. Masks are mandatory.
