Obituary for Françoise Blaseg

Françoise Blaseg
BLASEG, “ Frances” Françoise (née Bertrand)
It is with great sadness that the family announces her passing on June 30, 2020 in her Minnow Lake (Sudbury) home. She passed peacefully with her three children by her side, just one week after her 81st birthday. She was the daughter of the late Omer and Lea (née Fortin) Bertrand. Predeceased by her late husband Leonard Blaseg (2009). Loving mother of Carol Madore (John), Norm Blaseg (Colleen), and Carmen Gervais (JC) of Ottawa. Extended family Shelley Matte (Paul) and Donna Seifried (Jerry). Dear sister of Germaine Johnstone (late Stuart) Thompson, MB., brother Gerry Bertrand (Pauline) Kapuskasing, ON., sister Pauline Thompson (Eddie), and Paulette Rocheleau (late Ernie). Dear sister in law of Lavina Coombe (late Lloyd) Burnaby BC., and Joyce Hupet (Clarence) Cudworth, SK. Predeceased by her sister Rolande Scanlan (Marcel). Predeceased by brothers Henry Bertrand, Rolland Bertrand (Denise), Maurice Bertrand (Odette). Cherished grandmother of Dawn (Kenny), Kaila, Carley (Jorden), Frankie (Chantal), Marissa, Kyle, Leonard (Shannon), Corissa (Grant), Jenie, and Kaitlyn (Chase). Sadly missed by her great-grandchildren Jordyn and Benjamin. Mom's zest for life was unwavering. She loved her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews like her own children. Mom had many friends, whom she considered extended family. Frances loved playing cards and sports with her family and friends (and when she got caught bending the rules, you could count on her surprised “Oh, for Heaven’s sake!). Her legacy of kindness, her positive spirit, and her eagerness to share a meal and laugh, will be treasured always. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations to the NEO Kids Foundation. Due to the current pandemic, a chapel service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.
