Florence Cardinal (née Brunet) (1929-2020)

The family announces with sorrow the death of Florence Cardinal (Brunet) who died peacefully in her sleep on August 25th, at the age of 91. Dear daughter of the late Ludger Brunet and the late Florine Brunet (St.Amour). Beloved wife of the late Willie Cardinal predeceased in 2005. Dear sister of Isabelle St.Louis (André) of Chelmsford and Gisèle Eldridge (David) of Fonthill, ON. Predeceased by her four brothers and three sisters: Leo (Marie), Fernand, Roland (Late Rolande), Roger, Thérèse Côté (Jean-Paul), Paulette Côté (Jacques) and Lucille St.Amour (late Rhéal). Florence led a very active and fulfilling life. She was an active member of the Club Amical du Nouveau Sudbury where she enjoyed spending time with friends. When she wasn’t participating in her weekly exercises or card game, she enjoyed knitting socks, mittens and hats for newborn babies which were donated to various organizations. Apart from her social life, Florence thrived on being on top of the latest news, reading the Sudbury Star from start to finish, making sure to watch the nightly news and would enjoy a good debate on the latest happenings. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. There will be no visitation as per Florence’s request. Cremation will take place at the Cooperative crematorium. Interment will take place in the family plot at the Civic Memorial cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice
