DROZDOWSKY, Ernest John
The Family announces with great sorrow his sudden passing in Sudbury, Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the age of 77 years. Son to Alexander and Francis (nee Kalynuik) Drozdowsky, both predeceased. Dear brother of Ronald Drozdowsky. Beloved husband of 54 years to Lorraine (nee Johnson) Drozdowsky. Loving father of Derek (Elisa) and Trevor (Julie). Cherished grandfather to Jewel, Mila, Jake and Evie. He spent countless hours playing checkers with Jake and Mila and making play-doh creations with Jewel, Evie and Mila among other activities. His family was the pride of his life. Ernie worked a full career as a Mechanical Technologist and Supervisor in many different capacities for Noranda Mines - Geco Division as well as Hemlo Gold in Manitouwadge, ON, where he met his wife and raised his children. He also served on various committees in Manitouwadge, including the Parish Council, Chairperson of the Catholic School Board and Member of the Manitouwadge General Hospital Board, and the Ski Club to name a few. Following his early retirement, he developed a keen interest in cooking. He was always eager to demonstrate his culinary skills to family and friends. His pancake breakfasts will be missed by his grandchildren. Ernie enjoyed life to the fullest. He was kind, loving and gentle. His sense of humour always had everyone laughing. He is loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed spending his summer days at camp where he made sure the BBQ was always hot and the drinks always cold. He will be greatly missed by his East Bay camp family and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 7-9pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:00 am. A Luncheon to follow.
