It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the age of 91 years. Son of the late Firmin Daoust and Léonie (née Lefebvre). Beloved husband of 70 years to Lucille Daoust (née Nault). Loving father of Jo-Anne Laferriere (Claude), Robert Daoust, Claudette Tremblay (Rick), Rachel Daoust, late Richard Daoust, late Monique Daoust, Angèle Meloche (Ray), late Pierre Daoust and Ronald Daoust (Maria). Cherished grandfather of late Renée, Rob (Jennifer), Rachel, André (Joanna), Francine (Marc), Angèle (Rob), Julie, Eric, Chanelle, Gabriel and Sophia. Proud great-grandfather of Logan, Jaxon, Nicholas, Stéphane, Brandon, Matteo, Andrew, Chloe, Ava, Jacob, Mathis and Loik. Predeceased by his siblings Léonida, Stéphane, Laura, Thérèse, Michel, Madeleine, Jeanne, Paul, Philippe, Pauline and Rita. Survived by Roger and Emanuel “Manny”. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In keeping with Ernest’s wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St-Jean de Brébeuf Church, Sudbury.
