The family announces with great sorrow his death in Sudbury, Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 30 years. Cherished son of Dr. Carole Mayer (George Baldan), Denis Aubut (Gail). Dear brother of Jordan Gillespie (Richard) and Justin Ealdama (Olivia Lapierre). Sadly missed by the love of his life Sarah Russell (parents Darryl Russell and Carrie Anderson). Lovingly remembered by his cousins Andrew McDonald (Claudie and daughter Marguerite), Kayla Mcdonald (Brendan Mirka) and Stephanie Aubut (Luc Pilon). Daniel’s friends, too many to mention, were also his family and he loved them all very much. Daniel is a Cambrian College graduate from the Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training; he also attended Seneca College for Fire Prevention before becoming employed as a Foreman with Canadian Pacific (CP) Railroad. Daniel acquired certifications such as mine rescuing, on-ice rescuing and many others. A fitness enthusiast, he participated in strong man and physical fitness competitions. In his younger days, he was part of the Owen Sound Greys (GOJHL) and the Sudbury Junior Wolves (NOJHL). He was loved by his family and friends and was known to give the best hugs. He lived by the motto “Dare to be a Daniel, Dare to Stand Alone”. Daniel was a pillar and a rock to everyone he cared for. Go in peace Son, we are holding you close to our hearts forever.
