Obituary for Cody Proulx

Cody Proulx
PROULX, Cody

November 21st, 1991-February 24th, 2021

It is with deep sadness that the family announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, at the age of 29 years. Adored husband of Stéphanie Proulx (née St. Pierre). Doting father of Sophie and Paisley. Cherished son of Jamie Proulx (Kelly) and Christine Byrnes (Tom). Survived by loving grandparents Ben and Sue Proulx, J.C. and Colombe Bertrand, Norm and Elaine Byrnes, and Stewart and Mary Spry. Beloved by his in-law parents Dawn and Théo Noël de Tilly, and Denis St. Pierre and Sandra Foronda, and by his in-law grandparents Dolores Berger (Delmar, predeceased) and Reginald St. Pierre (Lois, predeceased). Idolized brother of Samantha Proulx (Cody), Steffany Byrnes (Donovan), Melany Byrnes, Kori May (Eric) and Kodi Barry. Treasured brother-in-law to Ryan MacLeod (Shannon), Justin St. Pierre (Jacki), Dean Blondeau (Susan), Tara Blondeau (Saljuq), Reinisa MacLeod, Nathan Noël de Tilly and Devon Noël de Tilly (Janet). Proud Uncle to Easton, Audrey, Arielle, his Godson Jamie, and Baby May (on the way). Cody will be sadly missed by extended family and friends. Cody was above all a committed family man, sharing with Stéphanie a love affair based on mutual devotion to, and respect for, each other. Through their unshakable partnership they created a home life for their precious girls Sophie and Paisley filled with love, kindness, security, inspiration and endless laughter. To his large family and many friends, Cody was generous, loyal, charming and selfless to a fault. Following in his father’s footsteps, Cody was a skilled and professional crane operator, and a proud and active member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 793. He was widely respected by his peers and was highly regarded in particular for his record of taking workplace safety “to the next level,” not only for himself but for all of his co-workers. Cody was, to his core, a profoundly decent man who made his little corner of the world a better place. The family will receive relatives and friends for a private scheduled visitation on Friday, March 5th, 2021. A private funeral mass for family will be held on Saturday, March 6th, 2021. Donations towards Sophie’s and Paisley’s education fund can be made by cheque to Stéphanie Proulx at the Cooperative Funeral Home. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
