Although I knew she was ill, I was still staggered to learn today that Chris had passed away. I did not work with Chris directly, but I knew her when she worked at Scarborough Legal Services and we shared a number of e-mails even after she left Toronto. I can say without hesitation that the legal clinic system and low income Ontarians have lost a great one. She was as committed to the betterment of her clients and everyday Ontario residents as anyone I have ever met. Aside from the work that she did, Chris was a joy to be around and the e-mails we exchanged always made me laugh. Her wit was as sharp as it comes. My condolences to her family.
