Cécile Paquette (Desrochers)
PAQUETTE, Cécile
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Cécile Paquette (née Desrochers) at the age of 93, on August 14, 2020. We find peace knowing she is welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband René Paquette on the date they were joined in the Sacrament of holy matrimony 68 years ago. Cécile is also finding comfort in the arms of her mother and father, Delia Beaupré and Majorique Desrochers, and siblings, Marguerite Bedard, Jeanne d’Arc Desrochers, Thérèse Malo, Gérard Desrochers, Roland Desrochers, Jean-Marie Desrochers, Albini Desrochers and Joseph Desrochers. Beloved mother of Robert "Bob" Paquette (Irene), Jean-Paul "J-P" Aubertin (predeceased) (Alice), Denise Paquette (Claude), Gerard "Gerry" Paquette (Monique), Laurent "Larry" Paquette (Cheryl), Jacqueline Paquette and Rheal Paquette. Cherished grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Cécile was the guiding light of the family and drew strength from her unwavering faith in God. She will be remembered for her remarkable spirit, wholehearted affection, love of music and memorable family traditions. Cécile retired from Laurentian Hospital (Sudbury) following a dedicated nursing career which began in Haileybury where she met her lifelong husband René. After relocating to Sudbury and raising their children, they enjoyed retirement life at their lakefront property (Wahnapitae Lake) where she lovingly tended to her various flower beds/rock gardens and passionately cared for local hummingbirds. Cécile volunteered at the Skead Seniors Centre for many years and showcased her delicious homemade baked goods at the annual Spring and Fall Tea events. There will be a private ceremony followed by interment at St. John's Cemetery in Garson. Arrangements entrusted to the Cooperative Funeral Home www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca A memorial donation may be made to Parkinson's Canada.
