It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Armand Sylvio Jean on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Health Sciences North at the age of 91 years. Son of the late Eugene Jean and late Laura Jean (Beaulieu). Beloved husband, best friend and soulmate of Margaret Jean (McKinnon). Loving father of Monique Jean (Dell) and Lise Taylor (Ron) and beloved step-father to Janie Saunders (Robert), Donny Jobin (Monique) and David Jobin (Kelly).

Armand will be sadly missed by his loving grandchildren Christopher, Jessica, Adam and Patrick. He was the best GG papa to Weston, Marcus, Isabella, Danilyn, Ryder, Kalli, and Hailey. They loved his papa specials.

Dear brother of Lorraine Finn and Gérald Jean (Nicole), predeceased by brother Sylvio Jean (Rita). Armand will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Armand, was a hard working business owner for several years managing his own IGA Grocery Store and Boots Drug Store. He was a very proud and involved member of the Minnow Lake Lions club serving 72 years of devoted and dedicated service to the Lions clubs. Armand served as District A5 Governor within the Lions club from 1985 to 1986. Armand was a driving force along with his good friend Bob Oglivy in the building of the Minnow Lake Skateboard Park in 2006 and the Minnow Lake Lions Place. He received numerous awards of recognition in his Lion career such as the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award (1993), Honorary Award (1998), Lifetime Award (2004), President Award (2008) and Perfect Attendance. Armand spent many tireless hours working on the Lions Christmas Telethon and other charity events supporting several fundraising projects for the less fortunate in our city.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors who took care of Armand this past month. The family will receive guests and friends on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Hellenic Centre, 486 Ester Street, Sudbury, Ontario P3E 5C4. Gathering from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  All friends and family are welcome to join in the memorial service held by the Lions club at 2:00 pm, luncheon to follow.
