Surrounded by her family, Berthe "Betty" Therrien (née Côté) passed away peacefully on February 1, 2017 at the age of 83. Daughter of Étienne Côté and Cécile Roy (predeceased). Beloved wife of Rhéo “Ray” (predeceased in 2002), loving mother of Gisele Pharand (Raymond), Jeannette Salmi (John), Monique Forsyth (Gordon), and Jean “John” Therrien (Lise). She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Raymond Jr. Pharand (Kyla), Julie Dunphy (Robert), Michael Pharand (Angela), Jennifer Dewit (Trevor), Bryan Forsyth (Laura), Christopher Forsyth (Donna), Eric Therrien and 21 great-grandchildren. Born and raised in Hanmer, Ontario, she was the youngest of 10 children (all predeceased). Betty's working career included positions in both banking and government agencies. She was an active member of the Osteoperosis Society of Canada, Sudbury branch. She enjoyed travelling and passed many of her winter seasons in Florida. The family wishes to thank the staff on 4th floor North at Health Sciences North as well as Lori and her staff at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care 1st floor. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 from 10:30 to 11:30 followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. in Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice are appreciated.
